Until July 25th 2011
In ADULT SHORT STORIES Dora Salazar displays her latest sculptures and the drawings from the book identically entitled, which combines music, literature and plastic arts; three Basque artists agreed on merging their skills in order to achieve this manifold art work. When admiring Dora Salazar's drawings and sculptures, together with Harkaitz Cano's texts and Joserra Senperena's music, no doubt you will feel enchanted by this uncommon book : a narrative told out of a string of visual, literary and musical sequences. The book foreword is a Bernardo Atxaga's short story, previously unpublished.
In this exhibition is to be shown the film shot by director Iñigo Salaberria at Tabakalera premises during Joserra Senperena's piano opus recording session; besides, a Harkaitz Cano's text will be namely written on one of the Gallery walls.
ADULT SHORT STORIES is the actual result of three artists' genuine ideas who have been working on the very ground of personal freedom and fantasy; they have been able to tell about reality out of fantasy itself, so as to convey their thoughts with utter honesty and by fusing various discourses, meanings and thoughts. In ADULT SHORT STORIES, writer Cano and musician Senperena have just let themselves be captured away by Dora Salazar's enchanting art; thus, both artists have found a great source of inspiration in Dora's new works : real-sized and down-to-the- waist nudes (sculptures) and a set of erotic drawings linked up to other fantastic genre stories, such as Metaphormoses, The Portrait of Dorian Gray, Dreams, Two Brothers …
